Los Dos Mundos

En la observación la atención es orientada hacia afuera, hacia el mundo exterior, a través de las ventanas de los sentidos.

In observation, the attention is orientated outwards, towards the external world, through the windows of the senses.

En la auto-observación de si mismo, la atención es orientada hacia dentro y para ello los sentidos de percepción externa no sirven, motivo éste más que suficiente como para que sea difícil al neófito la observación de sus procesos psicológicos íntimos.

In the self-observation of oneself, the attention is orientated inwards, and for this the senses of external perception are of no use. This motive is more than sufficient for the observation of one's intimate psychological processes to be difficult for the neophyte.

El punto de partida de la ciencia oficial en su lado práctico, es lo observable. El punto de partida del trabajo sobre si mismo, es la auto-observación, lo auto-observable.

The point of departure of official science in its practical side, is the observable. The point of departure of the work upon oneself, is self-observation, the self-observable.

Incuestionablemente estos dos puntos de partida renglones arriba citados, nos llevan a direcciones completamente diferentes.

Unquestionably, these two points of departure cited above, lead us in completely different directions.

Podría alguien envejecer enfrascado entre los dogmas transigentes de la ciencia oficial, estudiando fenómenos externos, observando células, átomos, moléculas, soles, estrellas, cometas, etc., sin experimentar dentro de si mismo ningún cambio radical.

Someone could grow old engrossed in the compromising dogmas of official science, studying external phenomena, observing cells, atoms, molecules, suns, stars, comets, etc., without experiencing within themselves any radical change.

As a sequence or corollary of all this, we can and must state emphatically, that there exist two kinds of knowledge, the external and the internal, and that unless we have within ourselves the magnetic centre that can differentiate the qualities of knowledge, this mixture of the two planes or orders of ideas could lead us to confusion.

Incuestionablemente los dos mundos interno y externo son verificables experimentalmente. El mundo exterior es lo observable. El mundo interior es lo auto-observable en si mismo y dentro de si mismo, aquí y ahora.

Unquestionably the two worlds, internal and external, are verifiable experimentally. The external world is the observable. The internal world is the self-observable in oneself and within oneself, here and now.

Quien de verdad quiera conocer los "Mundos Internos" del planeta Tierra o del Sistema Solar o de la Galaxia en que vivimos, debe conocer previamente su mundo íntimo, su vida interior, particular, sus propios "Mundos Internos". "Hombre, conócete a ti mismo y conocerás al Universo y a los Dioses".

Cuanto más se explore este "Mundo Interior" llamado "Uno Mismo", tanto más comprenderá que vive simultáneamente en dos mundos, en dos realidades, en dos ámbitos, el exterior y el interior.

The more one explores this "Internal World" called "Oneself", the more one will understand that one lives simultaneously in two worlds, in two realities, in two realms, the exterior and the interior.

Del mismo modo que a uno le es indispensable aprender a caminar en el "mundo exterior", para no caer en un precipicio, no extraviarse en las calles de la ciudad, seleccionar sus amistades, no asociarse con perversos, no comer veneno, etc., así también mediante el trabajo psicológico sobre si mismo, aprendamos a caminar en el "Mundo Interior" el cual es explorable mediante la auto-observación de si.

In the same way that it is indispensable for one to learn how to walk in the "external world", so as not to fall into a precipice, not to get lost in the streets of the city, to select one's friendships, not to associate with perverse people, not to eat poison, etc., so too by means of the psychological work upon oneself, let us learn to walk in the "Internal World" which is explorable by means of the self-observation of oneself.

Realmente el sentido de auto-observación de si mismo se encuentra atrofiado en la raza humana decadente de esta época tenebrosa en que vivimos.

Really the sense of self-observation of oneself is found atrophied in the decadent human race of this dark epoch in which we live.

A medida que nosotros perseveramos en la auto-observación de si mismos, el sentido de auto-observación íntima se irá desarrollando progresivamente.

As we persevere in the self-observation of ourselves, the sense of intimate self-observation will progressively develop.
